Towne Lake Parkway. The city’s project notice says the widening adds two continuous eastbound lanes to the Mill Street roundabout (the right lane exits onto Mill Street), two westbound lanes from the new shopping center entrance, a left-turn lane for the Waffle House and the Cherokee County Tax Commissioner’s office, a right-turn lane onto Woodstock Parkway and new crosswalks at Woodstock Parkway. Bartow Paving is the contractor; the $1.5 million cost is paid from SPLOST VII and a state infrastructure bank grant and loan. Cherokee County and GDOT are building separate improvements farther east under the Towne Lake Parkway and I-575 Quick Response Project.

Highway 92 at Trickum Road. The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners awarded the construction contract to Backbone Infrastructure, the city reported. The project is 80% federally funded; the city pays part of the local match. The county’s latest posted project update is from September 2025, so the current construction stage and finish date could not be confirmed on Oct. 16. Call the county’s SPLOST Roadway Program at 770-721-6077 for the schedule.
