Ridgewalk is the newer part of north Woodstock built around Ridgewalk Parkway and I-575 Exit 9: the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta, a Costco, an industrial park, and apartment and townhome communities that carry the Ridgewalk name. It sits between downtown and the Little River.

Where it is

Ridgewalk Parkway runs east from I-575 Exit 9 to Main Street. Woodstock Parkway runs south from it toward downtown, and the area reaches west across I-575 to the apartments off Towne Lake Parkway’s north end. Downtown is to the south and River Park and Brookshire to the north. In our mapping, 79% of buildings are in ZIP code 30188 and 21%, west of I-575, in 30189.

The city’s 2023 Comprehensive Plan puts about 55% of the buildings here in the Urban Village character area, 21% in the Regional Activity Center and 19% in Suburban Living. Its transportation section lists interchange improvements at I-575 and Ridgewalk Parkway, and its work program calls for a “Kickoff DDI Interchange at 575/Ridgewalk Parkway,” a diverging diamond interchange.

The city’s subdivision map names a dozen developments here, most of them townhomes and apartments: Ridgewalk Heights Apartments, Glenhaven at Ridgewalk, The Magnolias at Ridgewalk, Whitfield at Ridgewalk, Alta at Ridgewalk, Montclair at Ridgewalk, Meridian at Ridgewalk, Ridgewalk Landing, Park 9 Apartments, Inwood, Inwood II and Camellia Place. Its shopping center map lists the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta, about 49 acres, and Bell Industrial Park, about 114 acres, east of Main Street. We found no city HOA registry, so this page does not list HOAs.

Parks and trails

Olde Rope Mill Park, 690 Olde Rope Mill Road, sits just north of the Outlet Shoppes on the Little River, according to the city’s parks page. It has the 14 miles of the Taylor Randahl Memorial Mountain Bike Trails, hiking trails, paddling on the river, picnic areas and the Trestle Rock Trail past the ruins of the old rope mill.
