Big Springs Farms opened its 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 26. It sells pumpkins from the “wee be little,” about a pound, to the “Big Max,” about 50 to 60 pounds, along with gourds, Indian corn and corn stalks, and its hayride runs down by the lake to the pumpkin and cornstalk field. Admission and parking are free and the farm takes credit cards and allows dogs. Activities are priced separately: hayrides and the corn maze $5 a person, gem mining $9 a bag, the jump pillow $7 a child, and the farm train and bounce house $3 a child. Prices vary by pumpkin. The farm says it is open only on the dates and times it lists.
Berry Patch Farms was founded in 1979 by Bill and Debbie Durden on 39 acres with a small patch of blueberries. Today it offers pick-your-own blueberries in July and a pumpkin patch in October. Admission is $10 a car, which includes unlimited hayrides past the windmill. New this year are a petting zoo, a hay bale maze and a playground, along with the carousel and face painting. The farm prefers cash, adds a 3% fee on cards and does not allow dogs or other pets. For birthdays, it rents a reserved tent for 90 minutes with mini pumpkins and a hayride for the party.
