Most of the rise came this year

Woodstock rents dipped through the fall and winter. The index bottomed at $2,025 in December 2025, then climbed every month through August. That is a rise of 4.9% in eight months.

Home values moved the other way. Zillow’s index for Woodstock has fallen every month since October 2025, when it stood at $466,199.

What the numbers measure

Both figures are Zillow estimates, not prices actually paid.

  • The rent index tracks asking rents for homes and apartments listed for rent. It is smoothed, seasonally adjusted and weighted toward the middle of the market.
  • The home value index estimates the value of a typical home in the middle third of the market, whether or not it sold.
  • Zillow revises past months, so earlier figures can change slightly.

What it means for you

  • Renters renewing a lease should expect asking rents across Woodstock to be higher than a year ago. Compare listings in Holly Springs, Canton and Kennesaw, where typical rents are lower and rose more slowly or fell.
  • Buyers are facing slightly lower values than a year ago. Our Woodstock home prices page has the longer trend and the county figures.
  • Homeowners should remember that your property tax value comes from the Cherokee County Tax Assessors’ Office, not Zillow. More on that in our property taxes guide.
